Singer/guitarist/songwriter Jan de Bruijn (Rijsbergen, 1958) plays for over thirty-five years from the head and from the heart straight from the heart that is.
In the eighties He started up The Crew, a strong rhythm & blues band whith a leading role
in the international club scene.
The band was also a regular guest on major festivals and venues such as the blues festival Peer (b) Jazz Festival Poitiers (Fr). Moulin Blues Ospel etc.
The Crew still has many loyal fans, received resounding critical acclaim, made two albums and several singles.
In the late eighties The Crew stops at the peak.
Jan started to write more music and started his own band,
The public has to get used to the compact, almost poppy songs from The Jan de Bruijn Band
They release one single.
In the early nineties he started The Gonnabee'z.
Again a select group of Dutch and Belgian pop musicians and again with his brother in law Pieter van Bogaert on the keys.
The Gonnabee'z mainly plays Jan’s own work.and the songs are sturdier than anyone Jan wrote so far.
Especially in the ballads on the two albums of this group Jan shows his strenght.
Jan de Bruijn has evolved over the years into a performing artist like no other.
Different talents and qualities as: a good guitar player, an excellent singer and an inevitable personality on stage.
So far jan shared stages and studios with Johnny Copeland, Calvin Owens, Jerry McCain, Jo Lemaire, Peter Dictus, Bløf, Eddie C. Campbell, The Uptown Horns, Kaz Lux, Oscar Benton, Kees Meerman, Kees Schipper, Raymond v / h Groenewoud, Stef Bos and many others.
In may 2013, the long awaited album "The Long Way Home" is released.
This album is described in the media and by professional colleagues as "the best Jan made so far.
Another new direction with a new sound!
